CASHBOX MAGAZINE, INC.
The new owners of Cashbox Magazine
are re-creating an American classic based on George Alberts old Cash Box Magazine, which ceased publication in 1996.
What is different from the old days is now we have moved into an exciting era of the Internet and everything that goes with it.
Sadly, we are leaving behind some of the old comforts of vinyl, phonographs, 78s, 45s and LPs. Even the nerdy music gurus
at the local music stores with red hair and buck teeth, who knew all the hottest records and artists long before the radio stations
did, are slowly going bye-bye.
But now on the other side of the equation, we have the ability to buy songs online with just a Google or your favorite search
engine and a couple mouse clicks. Instantly its on our I-pods, cell phones, memory sticks, compact flash and the millions of other
ways we can play the songs. We dont even have to buy the entire CD to get what we want. It doesnt cost the
price of a tank of gas and it wont take any gas to get it. Whats more, its fun and we may even get to
know the artist whose music we just bought. Talk about a magical age.
We at Cashbox are building the new site and making changes daily with our promise to you that we will be a
BIG part of that musical fun and excitement.

We are planning to bring you...
The music news
The hottest artists
The coolest pictures
Accurate music charts
Record reviews that will be honest, and descriptively edgy, leaving little doubt about whether its worth listening to or not.
There will be a Cashbox Radio stations playing a variety of music including music chart countdowns,
Independent artists and many songs that you have neven heard before.
Oh yes, the CHARTS. After all, that is what we started out with way back in the 40s.
We do not plan to have 517 different genres including
easy listening for cat and dogs (my dog likes Heavy Metal anyway).
No, we are going to keep it small, only around 30 charts that we will be fine tuning as we go.
We dont want you to have to look through all the genres to find a single song that may not even be worthy of a chart position.
Our competitors seem to think that they can please everyone by having every song that was ever recorded listed somewhere
(if anyone can remember where it is listed).
Cashboxs criteria will be based on the Colonels secret recipe and it will work,
but the primary outcome of these charts hinge on the quality of song, sound and voice. Recording artists,
you better be exceptional because our secret recipe will not give in to the hype of labels, artists, songwriters -
or any hint of impropriety. Once Cashbox is re-established in all its glory, we will have advertising and promotion
rates, but in no way will this buy you a chart number. Cashbox numbers will be based on radio airplay, Internet voting,
Soundscan, jukebox airplay, and our top-secret methods. It will be virtually crook-proof. No song will debut at #1.
It has to have more of a proven track record and you cant do that the first week. If you happen to get to number
12 on an Indie Country chart you can bet your bottom dollar you will have earned it in a credible and honest tabulation.
Depending on the genre, most of the charts will change weekly.
Did you know that Cashbox Magazine
invented the bullet? (That's the highlight that signifies the hottest songs)

From the Desk of the President:
I would like to personally thank all those who are putting forth an astronomical amount of time and effort to get this
American Classic Magazine back to its glory days. We hope all the Internet pages will be up and running within 6 to 8 weeks.
Soon after, we hope to republish the Magazine on a Bi-weekly basis, or 26 issues per year. Subscription info will be available shortly.
Our effort at Cashbox is to make surfing the charts fun and simple. All our archives will be available for free. Unlike our
competition, our charts are not going to be based on out-of-the-box sales. They may show several hundred thousand
sold, but what about the maybe tens of thousands of returns six months later. (This is a false impression.) Also a note to
the wise: We will never censor music; however, artists who have confrontational or questionable lyrics will not grace
the front covers of our magazine.
We want to promote music and make it fun again, not present a political commentary or representation of
negative attitudes. A new generation of young people needs positive role models, and music artists have a great deal of
influence on our youth and what they become later in life.
All albums sent to Cashbox for review will be given consideration. Our panel of judges is not like our competitors; these are
real radio reviewers, and if they see things negatively, you'll get a review that reflects thatthe same goes for a positive
review. No one knows their identities but our staff, so no undue influence can come their way.
Record labels and artist are put on notice that no advertisement in any way will guarantee you a chart position. You promote
your product honestly with us and we dont roll the dice. A lot of factors will weigh into chart position, but this I guarantee:
it will be the most accurate of all the competitors.
*
When we started Cashbox Magazine in 2006 as an internet magazine little did we envision the power of the internet on music. Usually no single or album will debut at # 1 on a singles or album chart but in certain instances we can no longer ignore internet or sales at the register. Some releases are so strong out of the box that to ignore this fact would be a travesty of justice. You can bet if Walmart reports these sales they are real. Payola will always exist with soundscan and other means of reporting, but Cashbox uses other radio methods that our competitor does not, therefore our charts are as accurate as can be determined.
