CASHBOX MAGAZINE is back and taking Indie Music to the Masses
IACmusic.com , known as Indie Capital of the World, Chosen to Carry the Torch

Legendary Publication Returns with a Vengeance, Picking Up Where It Left Off,
and Lending a Hand to the Indie Revolution

A huge void in the music media has been filled with the return of a familiar and prominent face.  Cashbox Magazine, which along with Billboard popularized the culture of the Hit Parade in America, has relaunched as an online Ezine which resumes the legacy of its name.  Charts, entertainment stories, and reviews with the Cashbox touch, along with new features like Cashbox Idol and a comprehensive listing of the Cashbox Chart Archives provide a welcome return to the scene for this longtime icon of the music world.

From Timeline USA - February 28, 1959 - Cashbox Magazine began using a red 'bullet' on its record charts to indicate the records that have the strongest upward movement each week.

Wait a minute though, this isn't your parents' Cashbox.  Fresh as your daily dose of the world wide web, there is now a huge section on the chart pages devoted to cutting edge indie music, which is now provided in full by IACmusic.com (Independent Artists Company).  Cashbox went looking for independent songs to feature as picks and found that most of the songs chosen all came from one site.   IAC, which one music journalist called "the blazing vortex of the indie revolution", is this great individualistic oasis in the vast web music desert.

"Everybody knows there are endless indie music sites on the web.  IAC approached it a little differently.  Before we even opened the site, we spent over a year seeking out all the greatest songwriting talents, in all the nooks and crannies of the internet (big sites and small).  We were tireless and comprehensive, it was truly an unprecedented talent search, with a target group comprised of the largest assembly of unknown artists in the history of mankind.  Then from this monumental listening party (which continues to this day), we invited the cream of the scene to IAC, and we make no bones about it - we feel that as a group, the best artists in the indie realm are eshelons above the top charting artists/bands of the current pop/rock mainstream.  The major labels play it safe, signing acts that closely resemble whatever sold the most last week, and as a result, all the unique talent, the truly original songwriters, fall thru the cracks and end up as indies.  IAC champions these amazing artists and the proof is there to be played on our KIAC Big 50, and now, on the Indie Charts at Cashbox."."    - Scott Stambaugh, COO and Co-Founder, IACmusic.com

Cashbox Magazine was always a trendsetter in the record industry and by bringing its format into the online realm, is in position to help bring the pop musical heritage back to where it once belonged - to a place where talent and songwriting rule the day and not contrived product and demographics.  While Billboard has become a place for music business people to watch their stocks, Cashbox promises to be about the music and about the artists, and upcoming forays into radio featuring new music are soon to be announced.  Who better to help change the climate of popular music than a name that helped put the recording industry on the map in the first place?
